Vintage Blomst Braided Cup & Saucer and Plate (Set of 3)

HK$800.00Price

This Royal Copenhagen porcelain Cup & Saucer Set is in excellent condition. Factory First Quality. The pattern is Bla Blosmt / Blue Flower Braided.

A set contains 3 items: a cup, a saucer, and a dessert plate.

The pattern is Blue Flower, a series of beautiful blue-painted porcelain from Royal Copenhagen. The blue flowers are one of Royal Copenhagen's oldest decorations on the porcelain. The Blue Flower painters had great artistic freedom to paint the flowers as they saw fit. That is why the flowers and bouquets are painted uniquely. It is a pattern that is timeless and beautiful. It fits into any interior setting. Many of our customers also combine the Blue Fluted patterns with Blue Flowers with great success. Blue Flowers are available in different variants and forms such as Blue Flower Curved, Blue Flower Braided and Blue Flower Edgy. In the Blue Flower series, there are parts for dinner sets, coffee sets and other objects, e.g. candlesticks, jars, cups etc.

The cups and saucers were admittedly made in 1967, but the model on the cup is from 1888 and by modeler Erik Nielsen, while the plates/cake dishes have been in production since before 1884. The Blue Flower is Royal Copenhagens second pattern dating back to 1779, featuring a spray of flowers, freshly plucked and hand-painted in signature royal blue on fine, white porcelain. The special thing about the Blue Flower is that the flower bouquets are designed differently on each individual piece of tableware; according to the artist's wishes and mood she or he had the freedom to paint tulips, roses, poppies, carnations and more as they liked. Therefore this tableware is extra lively and beautiful – we think – and we use the lovely cups for espresso and small desserts.
