Vienna Rose is a traditional Biedermeier design. Herend started to paint VRH in the 1800’s; it was beloved and produced by many porcelain houses. However, Herend’s version is yet the most recognized Rose with Green edge design, the Vienna Rose of Herend.Grace and prosperity pervade the Vieille rose décor of Herend. It evokes the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, the bustle of fin de siècle European society, where liqueurs were drunk and cigars smoked in glittering, crowded salons, where etiquette was strictly observed. In search of unassuming elegance, nothing more sincere or self-evident could be found.
